Sweet Rush Bonanza Slot Review
Sweet Rush Bonanza is two Pragmatic Play hits bolted together, and the studio barely bothers to hide the seam. Candy-shop art and a scatter-pays grid come straight from the Sweet Bonanza side of the catalogue. The cells that light up under exploding symbols and start hoarding multipliers come from somewhere else entirely. What arrived on 29 September 2025 is a 6x5 board where eight matching sweets anywhere on screen pay out, and where a single grid position can be hit again and again until it carries something worth landing on. The Sweet Rush Bonanza slot pays off patience with a tumble chain far more than it pays off a lucky opening drop.
Theme, Graphics & Sound
Everything on this board is edible. Candy floss pinks and mint greens fill the frame, lollipops the size of streetlamps lean in from the sides, and the whole thing glows like a shop window at dusk. The gummy bears are the best-drawn items in the set, translucent and slightly wobbly, and they read clearly even when six of them stack up in a corner. Bananas, grapes and apples take the bottom of the paytable and look duller for it, which is probably intentional. The soundtrack is a sugary loop with a rising sting every time a tumble chain extends, and it gets genuinely tense around the fourth or fifth consecutive drop.
The visual grammar of exploding cells and growing multiplier tiles came out of Sugar Rush, a 7x7 cluster grid the studio put out in 2022. Shrinking that idea onto a smaller board changes how it looks more than how it plays. Fewer cells means the marked positions bunch together faster, so the grid gets visually busy sooner, even though there is less real estate for a multiplier to spread across.
RTP, Volatility & Hit Frequency
Pragmatic Play set the default return here at 96.50%, the upper edge of what the studio normally ships. Our build carries a Very High volatility rating, and the paytable structure shows exactly where that comes from. An eight-symbol win at the bottom of the table returns a quarter of the stake. The base game therefore spends most of its life handing back small change while you wait to see whether the multiplier cells get going, and the 5,000x cap only ever comes into view when they do.
Frequency of wins is not this game's weak point. The weak point is that a win without a repeat hit on the same cell is worth almost nothing, so a session can produce a long run of technically successful spins that barely move the balance.
| Spec | Value | Note |
| Win condition | 8 or more matching symbols | Anywhere on the grid, position does not matter |
| Grid positions | 30 | Six columns of five |
| Paying symbols | 9 | Three fruits, three gummy bears, three candies |
| Free spins trigger | 4 scatters | Three scatters do not open the round |
| Multiplier trigger | Second explosion on the same cell | The first win marks the spot, the next one arms it |
| Starting multiplier | 2x | Doubles with every further explosion on that cell |
| Multiplier ceiling | 128x per cell | Separate cells add together, they do not multiply |
| Multiplier persistence | Whole round in free spins | Base-game marks clear once tumbling stops |
| Ante bet tiers | 3 | The cheapest one lowers the trigger requirement |
| Bonus buy | 100x stake | Standard entry into the round |
Symbols & Payouts
| Symbol | Position in the paytable | Payout |
| Three candy symbols | Top tier | 5x for eight or nine, 50x for 12 or more |
| Red, blue and orange gummy bears | Middle tier | n/a, sits between the two bands |
| Apples, grapes and bananas | Bottom tier | 0.25x for eight or nine, 2x for 12 or more |
| Lollipop | Scatter | No payout, four or more open the round |
From the floor upward the order runs bananas, grapes, apples, then orange, blue and red gummy bears, then the three candies. Nine paying symbols across 30 cells is a deliberately tight set. Fewer symbol types means more collisions, and collisions are the only thing that marks a cell.
Fruit-symbol slots normally keep the fruit at the top of the paytable, and More Magic Apple does exactly that with its orchard icons. Here the apples are floor filler and the sugar outranks them, which sounds trivial until you realize it flips which symbols you actually want to see arriving in bulk.
Sweet Rush Bonanza Bonus Features
Multiplier Spots
Here is the detail most write-ups skip over. A cell does not gain a multiplier the first time a winning symbol explodes on it. It gains a highlight and nothing else. Only when a second symbol explodes on that same cell during the same spin does a 2x value land there, and every explosion after that doubles it.
The arithmetic that follows matters more than the ceiling. Multipliers sitting on different cells add together rather than multiplying against each other, so a win covering four separate 8x cells applies 32x to the payout, not 4,096x. Compare that to a game where multipliers compound and the whole shape of the max-win chase changes. Addition keeps the ceiling reachable and keeps the extremes rare, which is precisely why a board this dressed up in sugar still behaves like a grinder.
Free Spins
Three scatters do nothing at all here. The door needs four lollipops on the grid at once, and what waits behind it is ten spins where the highlighted cells and their multipliers flatly refuse to reset. Every tumble across the entire round builds on whatever the previous spin left in place, and four more scatters mid-round add another ten spins on top with no fresh clear-down. In the base game those same marks wipe clean the second the tumbling stops. That gap is the whole reason the bonus round is worth reaching.
Ante Bets & Feature Buys
Pragmatic Play has fitted more betting dials to this release than it usually bothers with. Three ante-bet tiers sit above the standard stake: the cheapest lowers the trigger requirement to three scatters, the middle one seeds random multipliers across the grid before the first drop, and the top tier starts every position on 32x.
Two buy options sit alongside them. The standard buy costs 100x the stake. Put another way, you are handing over a hundred base spins to skip a wait that the four-scatter requirement makes genuinely rare, and the round you get back has to mark a cell twice early or the purchase never catches up. The pricier super buy starts every position on 2x, which lifts the floor of the round rather than its ceiling, and that distinction is worth chewing on before reaching for it.
The Candy Line-Up
This is not a numbered sequel, whatever the name suggests. Sweet Rush Bonanza is a cousin, sharing the candy dressing and the tumble engine with the Sweet Bonanza games without inheriting their math or their reach. Lining the shelf up in one place makes the trade obvious.
| Game | RTP | Volatility | Max Win | Released |
| Sweet Rush Bonanza | 96.50% | Very High | 5,000x | 2025 |
| Sweet Bonanza | 96.49% | Medium | 21,175x | 2019 |
| Sweet Bonanza Xmas | 96.49% | Medium | 21,175x | 2019 |
| Sweet Bonanza CandyLand | 96.48% | Low | 20,000x | n/a |
| Sweet Bonanza Dice | 96.49% | Medium | 21,175x | n/a |
| Sweet Bonanza 1000 | 96.53% | Medium | 25,000x | 2024 |
| Sweet Bonanza Super Scatter | 96.51% | High | 50,000x | 2025 |
| Sweet Bonanza 2500 | 96.52% | Very High | 25,000x | 2026 |
Read the max-win column and this game owns the smallest ceiling on the shelf by a wide margin, roughly a quarter of what the original reaches and a tenth of what Super Scatter dangles. Read the RTP column and it sits near the top of that same shelf. A better theoretical return in exchange for the shortest reach is a fair deal if your sessions run long rather than lottery-shaped, and a poor one if you are hunting a headline number. The candy line has been one of the studio's most durable ideas, and it remains a favourite among players in Canada, which is a decent part of why the shelf keeps getting restocked.
How to Play
You can put anywhere between $0.20 and $240 on a single spin, one of the wider ranges the studio offers. The ante and buy controls live in the same panel as the stake selector, which makes it easy to raise your effective cost per spin without registering that you have done it. Autoplay, turbo and the paytable are all where you would expect to find them. The board is small by current standards, so nothing gets cramped on a phone.
The honest read here is conditional. If watching one cell climb from 2x to something absurd across a long tumble chain is your idea of a good session, this is one of the better versions of that idea BetFury carries, and a few rounds in the demo will tell you whether the rhythm suits you. If you want a bigger ceiling and a much simpler feature set instead, Big Bass Splash is the shorter route to a large number.
